Marston pub costs rise as fund-raising goes on

Campaigners hoping to re-open their village pub need another £30,000 to make it happen.

Residents in Marston and Hougham had originally planned to open the former Thorold Arms, in Marston, last December, but further hurdles have put back a planned May opening until November.

Sandra Allen, secretary of the Thorold Arms Community Benefit Society Ltd, says since buying the pub last year, the volunteers have discovered “a number of problems” leading to unexpected expense.
