The Mayor of Grantham and his deputy will not be standing as Labour candidates for the Harrowby ward in Grantham in the district elections in May after being deselected at a meeting last night.

Coun Ian Selby and Coun Bruce Wells failed to be selected at a meeting of Harrowby ward members at the Railway Club. Members selected Coun Mark Ashberry and Sue Orwin as the prospective candidates for the ward.
