Medical staff failed to help elderly couple who were hurt outside Grantham Hospital

A woman has complained to the trust which runs Grantham Hospital after staff failed to help an elderly couple who had fallen and hurt themselves outside the building.

Leanne Field was visiting the outpatients department on Thursday afternoon when she saw the couple on the ground near the entrance.

Mrs Field, of Sleaford, told the Journal that she and her wife rushed into the hospital to get help but they were told by two of the nursing staff that they were unable to help as it was 'against policy'. Mrs Field said they were told they would need to phone an ambulance even though it was on the property just outside the door or they could get wheelchairs to help the couple.
