RAMBLERS have planted a tree in memory of a member who passed away.

Members of the Grantham Ramblers’ Association gathered at a spot along a favourite walk of the late Harry Dorras to plant an Acer ginnala tree.

The tree was planted on Thursday on a patch of land known as ‘The Terraces’ overlooking Stathern, an area Harry loved to walk.

Rambler Janet Gregory said: “He was an endearing character and good raconteur.”

Harry, a former London taxi driver and race-walk enthusiast, moved to Barrowby when he retired and continued his love for walking by joining the Grantham Ramblers group.
