Memory Lane: Last truck rolls out of Grantham’s Aveling Barford

This month 10 years ago was when the last 30-tonne dumper truck left Aveling Barford’s site on Houghton Road.

Robin Orrey kindly brought this picture into the Journal as he thought it was a fitting time to remember the company and the many people who worked there.

He was part of the team which worked on the last truck, and who posed for this photo.

Also pictured are - Paul Bird, Mick Johnson, Howard Skeith, Andy Price, Dave Williams, Mick Harrison, Pat Muxlow, Mary Smith and Joe Lewis.
