Mobile tea parties launched in Grantham
Two mums have launched a mobile catering and events business to fit in with their family lives.
Jo Heslop, who moved to Grantham ten years ago, was previously company secretary at Totemic until leaving in 2016 to have twins.
Sian Rushby, also worked for Totemic before working in Bingham as a PA for a mortgage broker until she recently had a baby boy.
They have set up The Wandering Tea Party.
Jo has a passion for art and a degree in interior architecture and design, while Sian, who attended Walton Girls’ High School and Grantham College, later qualified in events management.
Jo said: “Sian has a love of baking and her spare time is spent baking and has been for many years making celebration cakes, cupcakes and more. We both knew our knowledge, skills, experience and traits would suit each other.
“Being new mums, we needed something that works around our families and mobile afternoon tea parties is a great way of doing just that. Combining Sian’s talent for baking, knowledge of event management and my eye for design, we can create the perfect party.”
The pair can come to your home or other venue and provide everything from food, service and even hosting.
Jo said: “We are a fairly new company so have been trialling parties, but we are ready to start taking bookings. We are perfect for birthdays, anniversaries, hen parties and even baby showers! It’s not just tea you can drink out of teacups, at hen parties we can serve cocktails from teapots!”
“Eventually, we plan to also stem into different themes and tailor them to suit clients such as children’s themed birthday parties.”
The pair add they believe they are unique, saying there appears to be no other mobile tea party business in the area. They can be contacted via Facebook.
