Police are appealing for witnesses following a collision on the A17 at North Rauceby in which a motorcyclist died.

Emergency services were called to the scene just after 6pm yesterday (Wednesday) about two miles towards Newark from the roundabout at North Rauceby where a red Ducati motorcycle had been involved in a collision with a grey Ford Mondeo.

The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the Mondeo was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

Anyone who was on the A17 near North Rauceby and saw the collision itself or either the red motor cycle or the grey Mondeo before the collision is asked to contact Lincolnshire Police on 101.

The A17 at the location was closed whilst police carried out investigations and re-opened at 1am this morning.
