MP for Grantham Nick Boles tackled the assault course at the PGL outdoor pursuits centre at Caythorpe during a visit to check progress on a special programme for young people.

Mr Boles was visiting 100 teenagers taking part in a scheme being run by the National Citizen Service.

The scheme offers team-building exercises to 100 teenagers from the county.

Mr Boles, who was part of the organising committee for the scheme said: “The point of the challenge is to show young people that the best way to overcome their fears is to work with other people.

“It’s a good message for life and society.”

Following their adventure training, NCS participants spend a week at the University of Lincoln and the Linkage Trust in Spilsby to get a taste of learning and living independently.
