MR Alan Cook, of Treadgold Avenue, Great Gonerby, has died at home. He was 80.
Mr Cook was born in Grantham.
He married Iris in 1956 and they had two children, Chris and Liz, and subsequently four grandchildren, Rebecca, Nicola, Sophie and Harry.
From the age of 14 until his retirement aged 65, he had only worked for two local companies, Ruston and Hornsby and Aveling Barford. He spent two years on National Service.
His main interests were fishing, watching Grantham Town Football Club play and football in general. When his health deteriorated he enjoyed watching many things on television, especially sport and crime dramas.
The Rev John Bruce conducted the funeral service at Grantham Crematorium Chapel.

Funeral arrangements were by Co-operative Funeralcare, Bridge End Road, Grantham.
