MR David Frank Mayfield, of Queensway, Grantham, has died at home. He was 73.

Mr Mayfield was born in Spalding, Lincolnshire.

He married Rita and they had two children, Andrew and Joy.

In 1975 Mr Mayfield married Anne, and he became step-father to Melanie, Paul and Darren.

He had nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

For a short period he worked in a clothing shop until leaving to complete his National Service. He later worked at BMARC and then ast PAS in Easton, until his illness and subsequent retirement.

His interests were bowls, golf and cribbage.

The funeral service was held at Grantham Crematorium Chapel, conducted by Robert Holland.

Funeral arrangements were by Robert Holland, St Catherine’s Road, Grantham.

Donations were received for the Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance.
