MR Eric James Fenton, of Welbournes Lane, Long Bennington, has died in Grantham Hospital. He was 80.

Mr Fenton was born in Staunton, Nottinghamshire, in 1932.

In 1956 he married Maureen and they had five sons, John, Stephen, Paul, Peter and Alan.

During his working life he had various jobs. He had worked at Browns Bakery and British Gypsum, and his final employment was at West Piling, Newark, before taking early retirement to care for his wife. She predeceased him in 1996.

Mr Fenton enjoyed watching car racing, looking after his fish pond and keeping aviary birds.

The Rev Nicki Marshal conducted the funeral service at Grantham Crematorium Chapel.
