MR Frank Smith, of Newton House Care Home, Grantham, has died there. He was 97.
Born in Grantham, he was the youngest of nine children and is predeceased by his siblings.
He was married to Violet, who died in 1975 aged 57. They had four daughters Janet, Ann, Judy and Maureen. He also leaves 10 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
For most of his working life he was employed at Aveling Barford. During the Second World War he was in a reserved occupation so was in the National Fire Service and was sent to Coventry to help out during the bombing of the city.
Mr Smith enjoyed watching television, horse racing and football. In his younger years he enjoyed gardening and had an allotment.
Robert Holland conducted the funeral service at Grantham Crematorium Chapel.

Funeral arrangements were by Robert Holland, St Catherine’s Road, Grantham.
