MR Harold William Meredith, of Riverside, Grantham, has died in Nottingham City Hospital. He was 78.
Born in Branston, Leicestershire, he was the son of Thomas and Doris Meredith.
After serving in the Army with the Lincolnshire Regiment, he worked at Grantham Road Services as an HGV1 driver and workshop fitter.
Mr Meredith was on the Royal British Legion committee at Melton Mowbray. He also enjoyed caravanning and taking holidays in the UK.
The funeral service was held at St Botolph and St John the Baptist Church, Croxton Kerrial, conducted by the Rev Harriet Orridge. Cremation followed in Grantham.
Family mourners included: Josie Meredith, Kay Burroughs, Anthony Burroughs, Jane Harper, Wendy Durrant, Andy Durrant, Brenda Towning, Graham Towning, Ashley Towning, Cristal Towning, Greg Eden, Diane Cook, Sean Cotterill, Carole Cooke and Josphine Mason.
Other mourners included: Nigel Collier, Shaun Burroughs, Craig Burroughs, Leanne Burroughs, Eve Burroughs, Kevin Burroughs, Wendy Harrison, Bernard Harrison, Marion Pearle, Gerald Bottrell and Mick.
Funeral arrangements were by Robert Holland, St Catherine’s Road, Grantham.
Donations were received for the Lincolnshirse and Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance and the Stroke Association.
