MR Peter Farrar, of Harrowby Lane, Grantham, has died in Pilgrim Hospital, Boston. He was 73.

Born in Huddersfield, Yorkshire, he was the youngest son of Milton and Irene Farrar. He had an older brother, Terry.

Mr Farrar was married to Shirley and was father to Michael, Derrick, Jacqueline and stepsons, Nigel and Andrew and grandfather to Kester, Kia, Paul, Charlotte, Georgia and Charlie.

At the age of 17 he joined the Royal Air Force and travelled all over the world. He attained the rank of Sergeant, and completed 23 years’ service.

He then worked for Newages Engineering, in Stamford, until his retirement.

Mr Farrar loved his motorbike and his caravan on the East Coast, coin and stamp collecting and Formula One Grand Prix motor racing. He also liked joining his best friend, George, for a drink at the Cherry Tree, and most of all, his holidays abroad.

The funeral service was held at Grantham Crematorium Chapel, conducted by Maureen Hale.

Funeral arrangements were by Robert Holland, St Catherine’s Road, Grantham.

Donations were received for Leukaemia Research.
