MR Reginald Arthur Hannibell, of Barkston, has died in Newton House Nursing Home, Grantham. He was 72.

Born in Barkston, he was the second son of William and Elsie Hannibell and brother to George, Barbara and Olive.

He started work on a local farm but left to become a concrete construction worker. In the 1960s he helped to build Grantham’s bypass. He remained in the concreting industry until retiring due to ill-health.

Mr Hannibell enjoyed cycling, horse racing and dominoes.

Robert Holland conducted the funeral service at Grantham Crematorium Chapel.

Family mourners included: George Hannibell, Olive Billingham, David Billingham, Joanne Billingham and Justin Hannibell.

Other mourners included: Peter Lyon, Lynne Pashley, Mathew Morgan, Marina Bland, Gary Meadows, Arthur Drury, Gwen Eardley, Sue Evans, Mary Winfield, Betty Robinson, Deana Harris, Ivor Billingham, Joan Parker, Beryl Drury, Basil Smith, Rex Wilcox, John Griggs, Mavis Greensmith, Geoff and Sue Warriner, Tony Winfield, Ricky Fenton, Peter Davey and Andrew Palmer.

Funeral arrangements were by Robert Holland, St Catherine’s Road, Grantham.

Donations were received for the Watergate Ward at Newton House.
