MRS Crista Elizabeth Potter, of Teesdale Road, Grantham, has died in City Hospital, Nottingham. She was 73.

Born in Peterborough, Cambridgeshire, in June 1938, she was the youngest daughter of George and Mabel Tooke. The family moved to Grantham in 1940 and lived in Buckminster Gardens. She was educated at Huntingtower Road School and the Girls’ Central School.

In October 1958 she married Peter and later became mother to Kevin, and grandmother to Daniel and Elliot.

Mrs Potter worked at Melias Grocery, in Market Place, Grantham, until becoming manageress of Webster’s Bakery in Westgate.

She was interested in history, reading and genealogy. She loved travel, especially to see the wildlife in Canada and Scandinavia. Mrs Potter was also a keen knitter, she enjoyed entertaining, loved walking her dogs and was a very good cook.

The funeral service was held at Grantham Crematorium Chapel, conducted by the Rev Jill Potts.

Funeral arrangements were by Robert Holland, St Catherine’s Road, Grantham.

Donations were received for the Oncology Unit at Nottingham City Hospital.
