MRS Delia Ash (nee Tuplin), formerly of Fiskerton, Lincoln, has died in Brantley Manor Care Home, Lincoln. She was 63.

Born in Corby Glen, she was educated at the Girls’ Central School, Grantham, and Grantham Technical College.

She started work as a secretary at Aveling Barford in 1965.

In March 1968 she married Gerald Ash, of Saltby. She leaves one son Craig, and two grandchildren Ella and Thomas.

Later Mrs Ash worked for the National Westminster Bank, in Lincoln, where she spent 10 years before going to Libya to work as a secretary with the Arabian Gulf Oil Company.

She enjoyed travelling, especially to Canada and the USA, and other holidays were spent in Europe.

Mrs Ash was a keen bridge player and her other interests included horse riding and Shakespeare’s plays.

Canon Anthony Dolan and Deacon John Wilford conducted the funeral service at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Corby Glen. Burial followed in the churchyard.

Family mourners included: Craig and Sharon Ash, Margaret and Gerald Ash, Cavan Tuplin, James Cropley, Lisa Doncaster, Rebecca Cropley, Andrew Foston, Darren and Michelle Coulson and Annette Reader.

Other mourners included: Pat Stainsby, Audrey Lamming, Bob Chappell, Christine Evans, Jill Walsingham, Patricia Simpson, Maria Kaya, Mary Wilford and Angela Jones.

Funeral arrangements were by E. Walsingham and Son, Church Street, Corby Glen.

Donations were received for Cancer Research UK.
