MRS Edna Mary Rooks, of Riverside, Welham Street, Grantham, has died in Grantham Hospital. She was 77.
She was born in Repton, Derbyshire, the daughter of Caroline and Dennis Hogan. She had a younger brother, John, who predeceased her in April 2011.
Mrs Rooks was the mother of Carol, Maria, Sandra and Wendy, grandmother of Ali, Hamid, Mohsen, Mohammad, Ben and Sam and great-grandma to Zainab. During her working life she had been bar manageress at a club in Old Dalby and had done bar work in Long Bennington. She had also worked in the kitchens and on the counter at ‘Tony’s Caff’, Gonerby Moor.
Mrs Rooks enjoyed meeting for dinner, bingo and chats twice a week at Riverside Community Centre. She also liked knitting, visiting Scotland to stay with her daughter, Maria, and going on holiday to Cyprus, with her daughter, Carol.
The funeral service was held at Grantham Crematorium Chapel, conducted by the Rev June Rowland.

Funeral arrangements were by Robert Holland, St Catherine’s Road, Grantham.
