MRS Joyce Bemrose, of Birchwood Retirement Home, Dudley Road, Grantham, has died in Grantham Hospital. She was 84.
Born in Denton, the daughter of Tom and Doll Doughty, she was one of eight children.
Prior to her marriage to Harry, she worked at BMARC in Grantham. She had three children, Lynda (who died in 1997), Ian (who died at 14 weeks) and Helen.
After having her children she worked for Sir Arthur Curtis at The Priory, Knipton, where she assisted the housekeeper. Later she worked for Mr and Mrs Norman Wigley, also of Knipton, retiring in the late 1980s after more than 20 years’ service.
Mrs Bemrose enjoyed her retirement until failing health and dementia meant she was unable to look after herself and she moved into Birchwood Retirement Home.
Robert Holland conducted the funeral service at Grantham Crematorium Chapel.

Funeral arrangements were by Robert Holland, St Catherine’s Road, Grantham.
Donations were received for the Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance.
