MRS Margaret Ann King, of Saltersford Road, Grantham, has died at home. She was 72.

Born in Grantham, she was the second eldest daughter of the late Len and May Smith, of Dysart Road, and sister to Barbara, Alan and Colin.

In 1961 she married Vic King and they later had two children, Robert and Helen and subsequently two grandchildren, Cameron and Victoria.

She was educated at Barrowby School, followed by the Girls’ Central School in Castlegate, Grantham,

On leaving school she joined Newbold and Burton shoe factory and enjoyed her job there very much, forming many special friendships.

Mrs King enjoyed gardening and holidays, especially with family around her. In her younger years she and her husband played squash and were members of Grantham Squash Club, where she enjoyed her time on the entertainments committee, organising the next party or fancy dress event.

The funeral service was held at St Anne’s Church, Grantham, conducted by the Rev John Spriggs. Cremation followed.
