MRS May Barry, of Sandon Close, Grantham, has died in Grantham Hospital. She was 85.

Born in Fulbeck, she was the daughter of John and Constance Cobb and sister of Con Peberdy.

She was the wife of the late Edwin for 60 years and mother to Linda and Carol, grandmother to Gavin, Jonathan, Anna, Jemma, Lee and Rosie and was also a great-grandmother.

At the age of 14 she went into service at Doddington Hall, Lincoln. She later worked at The Grove, Fulbeck, and was also a Home Help in Fulbeck for many years.

Mrs Barry loved flowers and Fulbeck Church and was a vibrant member of the village community. She loved cookery and baking, but her main love was her family.

The Rev Barbara Hancock conducted the funeral service at St Nicholas Church, Fulbeck. Cremation followed in Grantham.

Family mourners included: Linda Halls, Michael Halls, Carol Barry, Ray Bellamy, Gavin Capes, Melanie Fox, Jonathan Halls, Jade Collins, Anna and David Smith, Jemma and Martin Gibson, Lee Barry and Donna Barry.

L. Blankley, Mrs P. Marston, Bob and Rosemary Jones, Deborah Jacques, Donna Smith, Lucinda Gamble, Joy Lucas and Elizabeth Naeem.

Funeral arrangements were by Robert Holland, St Catherine’s Road, Grantham.

Donations were received for Fulbeck Church.
