MRS Rosina Violet Kelly (Rose), has died at home. She was 88.

Born in Euston, she was the youngest of two children. When she was young the family moved to Burnt Oak, Barnet, London, where she attended school.

During the Second World War she worked as a clippie on the London buses. Later she worked in an ice-cream kiosk in Westgate on Sea.

The family then moved back to Burnt Oak, where Rose worked in a cafe with her friend Elsie.

Mrs Kelly’s husband died 27 years ago and some time after she decided to move to Bottesford, to be near to her friend Elsie, who had moved to be near family.

Once in Bottesford she made many friends and joined in village life. She attended the Women’s Fellowship, the U3A, keep fit class at the Methodist Church and she was a member of the Women’s Institute. It was these friends and her neighbours who supported her during her illness.
