Museum closes . . . but will reopen soon

Have your say

GRANTHAM Museum closed its doors for three months yesterday - but those taking over say it is the dawn of a new era.

County council funding for the museum has been withdrawn and the council will be carrying out repairs in the coming weeks before it is handed over to Grantham Community Heritage Association.

Alastair Hawken of GCHA said: “It is the end of an era but the start of a new era. It is a chance for the museum to become the museum Grantham deserves.”

The facility is likely to be closed for around three months, giving GCHA time to work on the interior of the building and begin construction on a new museum shop.
