A choir festival hosted by Walton Girls’ High School and Sixth Form saw their chamber and encore choirs joined by those from Denton Primary School, St Mary’s Primary School, Long Bennington Academy, South Witham Primary School, National Junior School and Barrowby Primary School.

In between performances the audience and pupils enjoyed a selection of songs, drama and dance by Walton students, helping to set the Christmas scene.

The highly successful annual event held in Walton’s Sixth Form Theatre, is organised by Jessica Leonard, faculty leader of Performing Arts at Walton Girls, and the standard of performances have been getting better year on year.

Principal of Walton, Christine Horrocks, said: “I’m constantly amazed by the talent, enthusiasm and infectious enjoyment of the primary school pupils. The festival really captured the true values of the Christmas festivities of goodwill and joy.”
