A deep hole which appeared on the corner of Guildhall Street and Greenwoods Row last week remains both unrepaired and a mystery.
On Friday Anglian Water sent two teams to investigate the hole in the road where a pipe is visible, but a spokesperson from the company confirmed that it was not as a result of any fault with their infrastructure.
Following this, a spokesperson for Lincolnshire County Council said: “The Grantham team are aware of the hole that’s appeared and after Anglian Water’s investigation it is going to be LCC’s responsibility to fill it.
“The team are currently working on another repair on New Street, and once this is complete they will move on to the hole on the corner of Guildhall Street and Greenwoods Row. For this reason we cannot yet say when exactly this will be. In the meantime we have made the area safe using barriers.”
They added that they are yet to identify a cause, which will be investigated during the repair work.
