We do love a happy ending, and we are very happy to report that the mystery medal pictured above has now been reunited with its owner.

Jackie Walton, of Langford Gardens, came into the Journal office this week, after a friend from the WRAC told her about our appeal in Memory Lane.

Jackie Walton is the lady who served in the WRAC and was awarded this medal.

Jackie, now 72, served in Malta, Germany and Belgium between 1963 and 1985, and says the medal went missing about two or three years ago. She is not sure what happened, but guesses it may have been in the pocket of a jacket that she took to be dry-cleaned, and that it must have fallen out and been handed in to the Journal.

However it ended up being with us, we are delighted to return it to Jackie, and hope she wears it with pride!
