A new non-executive director has been appointed to the board of Lincolnshire’s hospitals.

Gillian Ponder has joined the Trust Board of the United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust.

As a non-executive director, Mrs Ponder will be responsible for challenging and contributing to the development of the Trust and scrutinising its performance.

Mrs Ponder is an accomplished senior executive with 18 years’ experience gained in a number of functional and general management positions within BT. She is currently Head of Business Analysis and Planning at BT Openreach.

Her qualifications and training include a postgraduate certificate in management from the Chartered Management Institute, strategic skills for senior women managers from Cranfield and adult education teaching certificates.

She is married with a son and a daughter of 16 and lives in the Lincolnshire Wolds, and has interests in tennis, listening to music and reading.

Gill said, “I am looking forward to learning more about the trust and to supporting the board in building on the many improvements already made at the trust.”

Chairman Ron Buchanan said: “The trust is delighted to have been able to appoint Gill as a non-executive director, and her background experience will be particularly helpful in contributing to the next stage of the organisation’s development.”
