Wyndham Park’s new paddling pool will be officially opened later this week.

Wyndham Park Forum and South Kesteven District Council will unveil the new facility at 11.30am on Saturday (May 16) which reflects the most popular concept selected during a consultation exercise in 2013.

The pool includes a colourful dedicated traditional paddling area with a modern splash pad design and six play features and fountains.

It will be officially opened by Coun Bob Adams, Leader of SKDC Conservative Group.

Grantham Rotary Club, which donated eight new seats to be placed around the pool, will also be present at the opening as will WREN, which awarded £42,871 towards the £80,000 project.

SKDC’s venues and facilities manager Paul Stokes said: “We know how popular the pool is in the summer months with families and hope they will agree that the pool now has a vibrant new design.

“We thank Wyndham Park Forum, Grantham Rotary Club and WREN for their support in what we hope will be a facility enjoyed by many children in the years to come.”

Members of the public are welcome to attend the event and will also have the chance to have their say on what other features of the park they wish to see revitalised as part of the park’s Heritage Lottery Funding bid.
