Another Subway will be coming to Grantham, after plans for two retail units off Springfield Road were approved yesterday.

The application by Grantham Investments for the new units next to KFC, were deferred in December due to planning committee members’ concerns over parking provision.

However a parking survey over a Friday and Saturday was then undertaken, and the results deemed that the 38 car parking spaces already at the site are sufficient to accommodate the two new retail outlets, in addition to the KFC.

An extra condition has also been included within the planning permission, to ensure that the existing loading bay, to be used by all of the outlets, is only available for deliveries and not to be used for bin storage, as is currently taking place.

It has not yet been confirmed who will move into the second new retail unit, although a coffee shop is one suggestion that has been made by the applicants.
