So much achieved – so much to do! That’s how it feels at Lincolnshire County Council as we say goodbye to the old year and welcome the new one.

Highlights of 2015 include the huge success of Lincoln Castle Revealed, the £22m refurbishment of the attraction in readiness for the 800th anniversary of Magna Carta.

We’ve also made great progress in many other areas – from important road schemes such as the Grantham southern relief road and superfast broadband to school places and libraries.

Over the next 12 months, our biggest challenge will be balancing the books despite a massive £65m shortfall in our budget. Inevitably, that will mean services being reduced or even stopped, which is why we’re asking for your input – by January 15, please – at www.lincolnshire.gov.uk/budget or through the latest County News.

Before then, a very happy and prosperous New Year to all Grantham Journal readers.
