Grantham MP: "Tories care more about NHS than tax cuts"

Grantham and Stamford MP says the extra £20 billion a year announced for the NHS shows the Conservatives care more about the NHS than taxcuts.

The MP has taken to twitter to give his views calling people to "ignore the pointless row about Brexit dividend."

Mr Boles said yesterday: "Today's announcement reveals three important things: 1) after 8 years austerity is over 2) today's Conservatives care more about the NHS than tax cuts 3) we believe we can win in 2022."

Earlier, the MP also tweeted: "The NHS gave me superb care both times I had cancer. But it needs more money. So I am proud that @theresa_may has today pledged a massive increase in funding over the next 5 years."

"Huge credit to @Jeremy_Hunt who has stayed the course as Health and Social Care Secretary and now has secured an unprecedented long term funding commitment."

Mr Boles has regularly spoken about the need for more money for the NHS, setting out his views on the need for a hypotheticated tax for the NHS, a move that has led the Conservative MP to work with Labour and Lib-Dem MPs on the issue.

He recently published ten principles of long term funding with Liz Kendall MP and Norman Lamb MP, as well as a chapter in his book Square Deal.
