Do you know someone brilliant working in Lincolnshire’s hospitals? Then you can make their day and nominate them in the ULHT Staff Awards.

The United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust’s 2016 Staff Awards have already attracted more than 140 nominations, but there is always room for more.

The awards are a chance to recognise great care and compassion, team work or innovation within Lincolnshire’s hospitals, either from individual staff members or teams.

So far, there have been 78 nominations for staff at Lincoln County Hospital, but only 30 nominations for Pilgrim Hospital in Boston, 26 for Grantham and District Hospital and seven for County Hospital, Louth. So if you think Grantham hospital deserves a push, submit a nomination today.

This month, there is a push for nominations in the ‘Fantastic Customer Service’ category which recognises staff who have shown excellence in customer service and demonstrable and sustainable improvements in patient care.

Last year’s winners in this category were the colorectal team at Lincoln County Hospital. Team member Jocelyn Fitzgerald, a senior colorectal clinical nurse specialist, said: “It was a real boost to the whole team to be nominated, especially in such a personalised way. Sometimes it feels like we are always swimming against the tide and it’s great to know actually it’s all worth it.”

The awards ceremony for 2016 will be taking place on Thursday, April 14, at the Princess Royal Sports Arena in Boston.

If you know someone who deserves to win an award, fill in a nomination form on the front page of the Trust website at www.ulh.nhs.uk or pick up a form at hospital reception desks and departments.
