Two Nottingham Forest stars will open a new school gym in Grantham next week.

Michael Mancienne and Jack Hobbs will be visiting Grantham Additional Needs Fellowship (GANF) to officially open its new gym facility. The Ambergate site has no indoor sports facilities and has been fund-raising since October 2013 to raise money to install a small adapted gym within a disused outbuilding.

Pupils have held numerous cake sales and book sales to raise funds. Staff have donated money from outside projects they are involved in and two teaching assistants even swam the English Channel to help raise money for this project. GANF has also been a lucky recipient of National Lottery money.

Now, smashing their target of £20,000, works are being carried out and installation of the equipment has begun. The gym will be officially opened on Tuesday, March 10.

The finished gym will include three interactive Row-Prow Concept II rowers, three adapted Fusion R Cycles, fully interactive Cardio Wall, three Pro Fit Exercise Balls, a matted area and a punch bag.
