Ancaster youngsters go yellow for World Mental Health Day

A village nursery dressed in yellow on Friday as part of a global campaign to raise awareness of mental health.

Staff and youngsters at Ancaster Village Nursery and Forest School donned their brightest clothing for World Mental Health Day, which takes places every year in an effort to open up a dialogue for suffers.

Nursery manager Michelle Webster was keen for the nursery to show their support.

She said: “Mental health affects so many people so it is important that we support those that work for us and provide them with a comfortable, warm and safe work place with a few goodies and thanks thrown in to show they are appreciated.

“Children’s emotions start at a young age and we are here to care for and nurture them by giving them the opportunities to talk about their feelings at a level they understand.”
