Mr David Alan Ridgers, of Grantham, has died at home. He was 81.

He was born in Dormansland, Surrey. His wife Babs pre-deceased him in 2005.

Mr Ridgers leaves three children, Carole Waller, Jane Graham and David Ridgers and four grandchildren, Kerrie and Lyndsay, Mark and Leanne.

He had worked as an agricultural manager, in Devon, Cornwall and Lincolnshire.

After his retirement he led a full and active life.

His interests included gardening, gliding, painting, travel and music. He had been involved in the Aviation Club, and Grantham Music Club.

Mr Ridgers enjoyed spending time with his family, particularly his grandchildren and godchildren.

Donations were collected for Marie Curie Nurses and St Barnabas Hospice.
