Mr David John Creeden, of Bingham Road, Radcliffe-on-Trent, Nottingham, has died in Field House Nursing Home, Radcliffe-on-Trent. He was 73.
He was born in Southbourne, near Portsmouth, Hampshire, the only son of Floss and Frank Creeden and brother to Heather. He leaves his wife Jen, daughters Angela and Jill, sons-in-law Paul and Cliff and grandsons Toby and Tommy.
The family moved to Colsterworth in 1949 and on to Grantham in 1951.
After leaving the town’s National School, Mr Creeden continued his education at The King’s School.
In 1957 he started work at the Electricity Board on North Parade, gaining experience in many departments. In 1962, through an electricity supply scholarship, he went to Nottingham University. After more experience he became the West Lincs district manager at Alma Park.
Mr Creeden enjoyed his garden but his main interest was sport, including football, cricket and badminton. He also collected sport memorabilia.
He was a great family man and he has left behind many happy memories.
The funeral service was held at Grantham Crematorium Chapel, conducted by the Rev Liam O’Boyle.

Donations were received for Nottingham hospitals’ charity and Prostate Cancer Care.
