Mr John Thomas Loosemore, of Seventh Avenue, Grantham, has died in Lincoln County Hospital. He was 85.
He was born in Middlemore Yard, Grantham, the son of Mr and Mrs W. Loosemore and fifth of seven children.
On leaving the National School he began work at Billy Benson’s farm.
After completing his National Service with the Royal Army Medical Corps, he did various jobs at local builders and factories. His final employment was at Kontak’s Hydraulics, where he spent 22 years as a van driver.
Mr Loosemore was a keen footballer and when his playing days were over he became a referee.
He was a pigeon fancier and he had played both indoor and outdoor bowls.
He enjoyed many Saturday nights at Kontak Social Club, where he served on the committee for many years.
The funeral service was held at Grantham Crematorium Chapel, conducted by Alison Ashton.
