Mr Jack Almond, of Brick Kiln Place, Grantham, has died in Grantham Hospital. He was 94.

He was born in Langford Moor, near Collingham, the second child of Lucy and John Almond. He had one sister and two brothers.

Mr Almond was employed mostly in farming.

He spent several years in the Army during the Second World War.

Mr Almond loved most sports and was a Lincoln City supporter for over 80 years. He also used to watch Leicester Speedway in the 1970s. For many years he played football and cricket for Denton.

He enjoyed spending time in his garden.

The funeral service was held at Grantham Crematorium Chapel, conducted by Lesley Taylor.

Funeral arrangements were by Geesons Funeral Directors, Westgate, Grantham.
