Obituary: Mr Patrick Conway

Mr Patrick Conway, of Queensway, Grantham, has died in Grantham Hospital. He was 86.

Born in Derrynameel, Co Mayo, Ireland, in 1928 he was one of nine children.

Mr Conway moved to England at the age of 19.

He was married to the late Nesta Conway for 59 years.

He leaves three sons, Patrick, Mark and Stephen, six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

On leaving school he worked with his father on the land. He then worked for the local council until his move to England, where he worked on the railways. He then worked in the foundries until retiring from Caddy Castings, Grantham.

Mr Conway enjoyed horse racing and taking holidays, mostly in Ireland. His family and family life were of most importance to him.

Canon Anthony Dolan conducted the funeral service at St Mary’s RC Church, Grantham. Burial followed in Grantham cemetery.

Funeral arrangements were by Robert Holland, St Catherine’s Road, Grantham.
