Mr Tom Lound, of Qu’Appelle Nursing Home, Bourne, and formerly of Houghton Road, Grantham, for over 40 years, has died in Peterborough City Hospital. He was 79.

Born in New Street, Grantham, in November 1933, he was the son of Arthur and Mabel Lound and brother to Audrey.

He married Joan in 1961. Their daughter, Suzanne was born in 1963 and son, Martin in 1965.His wife predeceased him in 1984.

Mr Lound began work delivering coal for Storey’s coal merchants, until moving on to work at Ruston and Hornsby. He also worked for a time at BMARC. Finally he settled at Kontak Engineering, where he worked for nearly 40 years.

He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Mr Lound also like socialising with his many friends at Kontak Social Club in Grantham. He enjoyed sports, including snooker, darts and football and he was a supporter of Tottenham Hotspur FC. He particularly liked to have a bet on the horse racing.

Robert Holland conducted the funeral service at Grantham Crematorium Chapel. Burial followed.
