Mrs Amy Skipworth, fomerly of Grantham, has died in Lincoln County Hospital. She was 94.
Born in Liverpool, her father was in the Grenadier Guards and was stationed in London, where she attended a girls boarding school. She left at the age of 17 to train as a nurse.
She met her first husband, Leslie Smith, who was in the RAMC and lived an Army life, travelling around. They had two daughters, Barbara, born in Leicester, and Eileen, born in Grantham.
On returning to Grantham, she worked at Aveling Barford and it was there that she met her second husband, Robert Skipworth (Bob) and they married in 1952.
Mrs Skipworth was widowed in 1975.
She had worked at Grantham Leisure Centre, where she met and made many great friends.
Her interests included watching television, holidays abroad and her many trips to London, to see the West End shows. She also supported Liverpool football team.
The funeral service was held at Grantham Crematorium Chapel, given by the Rev John Bruce.
Family mourners included: Barry and Barbara Ashwin, Steven, Mark and Catherine Ashwin, Ray and Eileen Smith, and Caroline and Sarah Smith.

Funeral arrangements were by Robert Holland, St Catherine’s Road, Grantham.
Donations were received for Diabetes Research.
