Mrs Catherine Mary Willows (Mary), of Yew Tree Residential Care Home, Dowsby, Bourne, has died there. She was 99.
Born in Grantham, she was one of eight children. The family moved from Grantham to Londonthorpe when she was a young child and she had a very happy childhood there.
She has a son John, daughter-in-law Christine and grandson Jonathan. Her granddaughter Juliet predeceased her. She also has three great-grandchildren.

She was a regular volunteer managing their busy clothing store each day and delivering meals on wheels. For several months in 1992 she ran the Grantham office and took her turn driving to Stocken Prison, to provide snacks for the prison families who were visiting relatives.
She was a member of the WRVS emergency team, attending any fire, flood or other crisis in the area and she continued to support the WRVS until the Grantham branch was disbanded.
A Conservative supporter throughout her life, she helped to raise money for many charities.
She had a musical trait and regularly played the organ at Londonthorpe Church and on occasions, at Manthorpe Church in her younger days.
Until around two years ago she was a regular figure around Grantham, chatting with friends and having the odd bet or two on the horses.
She had a good sense of humour, was well liked and had a forthright manner. She enjoyed doing crossword and word puzzles.
