Mrs Elizabeth Caudwell, of Premier Court, Grantham, has died in St Edmunds Nursing Home, Worcester Road, Grantham. She was 99.

Born in Selston, Nottinghamshire, she was the only child of Kate and John Robison and was raised in the Dukeries area of Nottinghamshire.

She attended Mansfield Girls High School and later Millers Business College.

She was married to Christopher John Caudwell, late of Lincolnshire County Police Force. They had a son David and daughter Julia and subsequently son-in-law Chris, grandchildren Sean and Jane and great-grandchildren, Oscar and James.

Mrs Caudwell had worked as a sales assistant at Pearls ladies fashion shop in High Street, Grantham.

She enjoyed ballroom dancing, where she made many friends and her other interests included sewing, knitting, gardening, crossword puzzles, nature and spending time with her family and friends.

The Rev June Rowland conducted the funeral service at Grantham Crematorium Chapel.

Family mourners included: David Caudwell, Julia Marshall, Chris Marshall, Sean Marshall, Lyn Marshall, Jane Pavey, Giles Pavey, Geoffrey Caudwell, Donald Caudwell, Ruth Bulman, Robert Caudwell, John Caudwell, Judy Caudwell, Fred Caudwell and George Caudwell.

Other mourners included: Gillian Henegan, Godfrey Brown, Liz Fletcher, Vanessa O’Connor, Elizabeth Timms, Barry Philpotts, Dennis Willoughby, Margaret Jones, Christine Cooper, Sue Redmile, Brenda Daniele, Mrs Southwell, Violet Olley, Renee Topley, Margaret Howe, Janice Buglass, Janet Potts, Sue Winter, Ken Winter, Colin Holloway, Rick Startk, Susan Paul and Gordon Paul.

Funeral arrangements were by Robert Holland, St Catherine’s Road, Grantham.

Donations were received for the British Heart Foundation.
