Obituary: Mrs Gwenda Jean Siggee

Mrs Gwenda Jean Siggee, of Queen Street, Grantham, has died in Grantham Hospital. She was 68.

She was born in Coningsby in October 1945, the daughter of Ernest and Constance.

When she was five years old her mother died, but she had a happy upbringing with her father and mum West.

She had two brothers Jimmy and Bernard, and three sisters Joyce, Pauline and Zena. She is survived by her brothers and sister Joyce.

She was married to, and later divorced from, Michael Siggee and in that time she had two daughters, Carol and Sharon.

Mrs Siggee had shared many happy years and joyful times with her long-time, beloved partner, Reg Hill.

She was grandmother to Nicholas, Kirsty, Joseph, Kieran, Charlotte, Alexander, Rhys, Joshua, Ashley, Oliver, Reuben and Joe and great-grandmother to Aleya-Jane. She also leaves her partner’s children Angela, Tracy and Andrew.

Mrs Siggee attended Springfield Secondary Modern School and Huntingtower School.

During her working life she was employed by the Co-op mobile shop; the Cracker Factory; JSW Textiles; ISS Cleaning Services as a mobile manager within Lincolnshire; and finally she worked as a cleaner at the Co-Op on Princess Drive until retiring in October 2012 due to ill health.

She loved travelling to the coast, going to car boot sales and collecting crackle glass and later marble eggs. Her other interests included reading, walking, doing jigsaw puzzles, visiting antique fairs, going on bus outings and visiting her family regularly.

The Rev John Bruce conducted the funeral service at Grantham Crematorium Chapel.
