Mrs Joyce Lee, of Welbourn Hall Nursing Home, Hall Lane, Welbourn, has died there. She was 81.

Mrs Lee was born in Fishpool, near Mansfield, Nottinghamshire.

She was widowed twice over, having been predeceased by her former husbands John Elsom and Raymon Lee.

From the age of 13 she became a live-in nanny to two girls at Wollaton Park, Nottingham.

Mrs Lee also did various cleaning jobs when she lived on a smallholding in Nottinghamshire.

She also ran a successful kennel business and bred Alsatians and other breeds.

In 1987 she and Raymon moved to Long Bennington.

Her interests included gardening, growing vegetables and baking. Her passion was her animals. She also enjoyed going to the theatre with friends and contacting Radio Nottingham live on Sundays.

The Rev John Bruce conducted the funeral service at Grantham Crematorium Chapel.

Family mourners included: Christine Pickard, Ray Pickard, Joy Barnes, Leslie Hallan, Catriona, Nick Hirst, Paige Collier, Nathan O’Reilly, Berhani O’Reilly, Alison Edwards, Beverley Clark, Mr and Mrs G. Charlesworth and Mr and Mrs Bill Fox.

Other mourners included: Pauline Winters, Wendy Clapton (Belvoir House Care Home), Francis O’Reilly, Gerard O’Reilly and Kelly Mawson.

Funeral arrangements were by Robert Holland, St Catherine’s Road, Grantham.

Donations for the Alzheimer’s Society amount to £93.36 to date.
