Mrs Laraine Walker, of Harlaxton, has died at home. She was 70.

Born in Ripley, Derbyshire, she was the eldest daughter of Edward and Blodwen Shelley, of Lower Hartshay, Derbyshire.

She started walk as a trainee wages clerk in Belper, Derbyshire. Following her marriage to Don, she moved to Grantham in 1964.

Mrs Walker worked as a wages clerk at Aveling Barford, leaving to have two sons, Simon and Robert. She then worked at Black Horse estate agents and latterly as receptionist for Strand Management hair salon.

The Rev Keith Hanson conducted the funeral service at St Mary and St Peter Church, Harlaxton. Cremation followed in Grantham.

Funeral arrangements were by Robert Holland, St Catherine’s Road, Grantham. Donations were received for St Barnabas Hospice, Grantham, and Hayward House Hospice, Nottingham.
