Obituary: Mrs Margaret Mary Bullivant

Mrs Margaret Mary Bullivant, of Newton House Nursing Home, Barrowby Road, Grantham, has died there. She was 85.

She was born in Barry, Glamorganshire, South Wales, in July 1929. In 1953 she married Peter Bullivant. They have three children, Jane, Verity and Richard. Her husband died at the age of 54, and her daughter Jane died aged 47.

Mrs Bullivant has lived in Grantham since 1965, when her husband was posted to RAF Spitalgate.

She had worked at Cardiff National Museum as a personal assistant.

Together with some friends she started Manthorpe Playgroup which is still operating today.

For many years Mrs Bullivant worked as secretary/PA at Catlin Bros. She was a keen walker, played tennis and was very active. She also enjoyed knitting and crocheting and spending time with her family.

The Rev John Bruce conducted the funeral service at St John’s Church, Manthorpe. Burial followed in the churchyard.

Family mourners included: Verity Bryant, Graham Hayton-Hill, Richard and Jennie Bullivant, Lucy Manfield, James Bryant and Gemma Bass, Spencer Bryant, and Robert Prince.

Other mourners included: Betty Elmer, Alison Allenby, Brian Grace, Jill Grace, Rosemary Caunt (Manthorpe Playgroup), John Little, and Audrey Little.

Funeral arrangements were by Robert Holland, St Catherine’s Road, Grantham.
