Mrs Mary Barbara Ironmonger, of Belvoir Care Home, Brownlow Street, Grantham, has died there. She was 88.

Born in Scotland, the second of eight children, she moved to Grantham as a young girl.

She met Walter and they were married in 1950. They had four sons, Paul, Alan, Colin and Terry.

Mrs Ironmonger enjoyed her family and always kept in touch with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

After leaving school she had a number of jobs, including working at Mowbray’s Brewery and BMARC. Following her marriage she did a variety of landwork, including potato picking and fruit picking.

Mrs Ironmonger’s interests included reading, knitting and socialising.

The Rev June Rowland conducted the funeral service at Grantham Crematorium Chapel.

Mourners included: Colin and Linda Ironmonger, Albert Williamson, Keith Platts, Elaine Platts, Laurie Challis, Jemma McLardy, Emily Fraser, Louise Pearson, Tony Lawrence, June and Jim Cleary, Ann and Cliff Taylor, Sue and Terry Ironmonger, Lee and Lisa Ironmonger, Amy Spinks, Paul Spinks, David and Louise Ironmonger, Philip Mapletoft, Margaret Garner, Catherine Ironmonger, Michelle Gravel, Neil Dennis, Joanne Dennis, Mick Dixon, Paul Ironmonger, Connie Ironmonger, David and Sarah Phillips, Hannah Phillips, Kieran Phillips, John Dobney and Bridget Mills.

Funeral arrangements were by Robert Holland, St Catherine’s Road, Grantham.
