Mrs Mary Dyer has died at her home in Bottesford. She was 82.
Born in Yorkshire, on December 29, 1931, the family moved to Northampton and then to Eaton.
She began work at Spriggs Shoe Factory in Melton Mowbray, and it was during her daily journeys to work that she met Bill.
The family then moved to The Crescent, Stathern, and she worked in a factory in Stathern.
On December 19, 1953 she and Bill were married. They made their first home in Stathern and their daughter, Rosemary was born there.
The family then moved to Aylestone, a suburb of Leicester, where their daughter, Jennifer was born.
In 1966 the family returned to the Vale of Belvoir and Mrs Dyer worked in Stathern Shoe Factory until she retired in the 1980s.
Mrs Dyer was happy at home, caring for her family and looking after the garden, particularly the flower garden.
She regularly attended the 8.30am service at Bottesford Church.
Mr and Mrs Dyer celebrated their Diamond Wedding on December 19, 2013.
The funeral service took place at St Mary’s Church, Bottesford, conducted by Judith Wells. Burial followed in the churchyard.

Richardson, Hollie Dunning, Sandi Betts, Pauline Austin, and Mavis Sayers.
Funeral arrangements were by William Roberts and Sons, Devon Lane, Bottesford.
