Human excrement was left on the doorstep and smeared on the back door of the British Heart Foundation’s charity shop in Grantham.
It was discovered by horrified manager Karen Blythe and deputy Nicola Winter when they arrived at work on Saturday morning.
“It is just vile,” said Karen, “And it’s happened before.”
They have also turned up to find people sleeping rough by the collection bank including on a donated sofa, and say groups often gather by the shop’s back entrance off Elmer Street South. “It can be quite scary,” Karen added.
She is calling for CCTV to be installed, to ensure that people are not deterred from donating to the charity shop on the High Street.
“We still want people to keep donating their lovely items,’ she said.
